At the heart of our property is our historic red barn built in the 1930s and which was already on the site when our family purchased the farm in 1947.

Throughout much of its life, the two-story barn was used for housing livestock like dairy cows, horses, and bulls. The center section and upper loft held hay and were flanked on either side with livestock pens, grain storage, and tools. Two mounted wall ladders allowed the farmer to feed animals on either level and the granary nearby was used to store feed, horse tack, and leftover grain.

Today it serves as an iconic nod to our history and is a space defined by casual hospitality. Still reflecting its original character, the barn provides a spacious setting for larger indoor events which benefit from its rustic charm.

Event Possibilities in the Barn:

  • Dances

  • Retreats

  • Conferences

  • Birthday Parties

  • Catered Dinner Parties

  • Speakers

  • Musicals and Plays

  • And more!

Our 197 acres was purchased by my parents for $19,000 and is located just three miles from my grandparents’ original centennial farm. The remaining 50 acres sits adjacent to the South Fork Coppei Creek.

My parents could only dream of living next to a rippling brook when they first got married. They both knew that much of the water from the creek would flow by before they met all of their goals.

That creek and the tranquil setting it inhabits is still one of the property’s hallmarks today, embellishing the experience with its gentle sounds of water and creating a tranquil and charming setting for guests to relish.

We hope you enjoy the serene beauty of Stella’s Homestead as much as we do.

The gorgeous landscape and surroundings of our historic farm work in unison to create a backdrop perfectly suited for capturing engagements, senior pictures, family photos, maternity photos and more.

Start your session with a backdrop of the beautiful Blue Mountains, then make your way to Jim’s Park (named after my late father, Jim Hansen), and finally over to the old timber-framed barn. You could easily spend several hours taking photos at multiple locations on our farm.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you’d like to schedule a shoot.
